A sleep-out challenge fundraiser to raise awareness and funds to support people in CBRM who are experiencing poverty, homelessness, and who are “sleeping rough”.

In response to recent conversations around homelessness in CBRM, Town House and Glace Bay Food Bank are respectfully challenging all community leaders, including elected officials at all levels of government, educational leaders, high profile musicians, high profile athletes, high profile traditional media personalities and social media influencers to join us in solidarity and support of those living in poverty and experiencing homelessness.

What this Challenge Isn’t

The WAKE UP! Challenge is not about pretending to be homeless. We will sleep outside so people experiencing homelessness won't have to. When you Sleep Out, you're not just raising funds and awareness - you're showing your community that you are an ally and are committed to improving the lives of our community members experiencing hardship.

The WAKE-UP! Challenge is also not an attempt to "call out" anyone, or make assumptions about your life circumstances or experiences. We're simply asking for your support to raise awareness and funds for an important cause based on events and conversations in the community.
